Day Program
(Currently only available Brisbane - Mt Samson & Ferny Hills)

Neurodivergent teens participating in a group activity at the Whole Self Day Program

W.I.L.L’s Day Program provides a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment designed to build emotional regulation, independence, social confidence, and practical life skills.
All supports are delivered 1:1, with activities paced to each young person’s sensory, emotional, and developmental needs.

1. Emotional Regulation & Support

Participants receive continuous support from staff trained in:

  • Co-regulation strategies

  • Mindfulness, grounding, and body-awareness routines

  • Navigating stress, transitions, and overwhelm

  • Trauma-informed responses to dysregulation

  • Self-awareness and understanding emotions

Each day begins with calming, predictable routines that help participants feel regulated, settled, and ready for learning.

2. Behaviour Support Plan Implementation

We specialise in:

  • Implementing Behaviour Support Plan strategies consistently

  • Reducing anxiety-driven behaviours

  • Teaching proactive skills rather than reactive responses

  • Supporting communication and self-expression

  • Ensuring safety, predictability, and emotional wellbeing

We work closely with each participant’s Behaviour Support Practitioner to ensure consistency and alignment.

3. Life Skills & Independence Development

Our Day Program includes structured, real-world, situational learning experiences such as:

  • Cooking and nutrition

  • Household skills (cleaning, organising, maintaining shared spaces)

  • Gardening and outdoor care

  • Money handling and budgeting

  • Time management and organisation

  • Executive functioning support (planning, sequencing, task breakdown)

Participants practise independent living skills within a supported, predictable, and confidence-building environment.

4. Social & Communication Skill Development

We support social growth in ways that respect each participant’s communication style and comfort level:

  • Guided peer interactions

  • Cooperative activities

  • Boundary-setting and consent skills

  • AAC support and alternative communication

  • Building confidence in group and community environments

Social participation is never forced — we scaffold it at the participant’s pace.

5. Skill-Building Through Purposeful Activities

Our Day Program includes meaningful, hands-on, workshop-style activities that build engagement, creativity, and purpose, such as:

  • Creative arts and expressive activities

  • Woodwork, welding, and practical projects

  • IT, digital skills, and basic business skills

  • Animal care, gardening, and nature-based learning

  • Personal interest exploration and strengths-based projects

Each activity is intentionally designed to build confidence, resilience, problem-solving, and functional capacity.

6. Employment Readiness & Project-Based Learning

For participants working toward future employment or community contribution, we offer:

  • Work readiness skills

  • Micro-business projects

  • Opportunities to create, price, and sell items

  • Customer-interaction practice

  • Support at community markets

  • Exposure to workplace routines and expectations

These experiences provide meaningful and achievable pathways toward work experience or future paid roles.

7. Safe Community Inclusion

Our Day Program extends into the community with structured, supported experiences such as:

  • Visiting local shops, cafés, and libraries

  • Practising public transport (where appropriate)

  • Community recreation (walking trails, parks, gyms)

  • Supported social participation opportunities

  • Practising independence in real-world settings

These outings build confidence, planning skills, safety awareness, and community readiness.

8. Collaboration With Families & Allied Health

We maintain strong communication with:

  • Parents and caregivers

  • Psychologists

  • Occupational Therapists

  • Speech Pathologists

  • Behaviour Support Practitioners

  • Support Coordinators and NDIS representatives

This ensures all supports remain consistent, aligned, and focused on shared goals.
